Terms of service
Last updated 22 September 2026 · These terms are between you and [operator legal name], [state] [entity type] ("we"), which operates .
1. The service
The service is the web planner and its pages, the public calculators, the AR view, and the iOS and Android apps built from the same code, together with the Pro and Studio tiers. We may change, add or retire features; if a paid feature is retired we will say so at least 30 days ahead where practical.
2. Accounts
The free planner needs no account. An account is created with an email address and a one-time code or link; you are responsible for the email account it is tied to. One person per account; Studio teams share plans through the team features, not through shared logins. You may delete your account at any time from the account panel.
3. Subscriptions, trials and refunds
- Pro and Studio are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly at the price shown on the pricing page at the time you subscribe. A purchase on any channel (web, App Store, Google Play) unlocks the same tier on all of them for the same account.
- One free 14-day Pro trial per account, started by you, never converting to a paid plan by itself.
- Subscriptions renew until cancelled. Cancel where you bought: on the web through the billing portal linked from the account panel; on iOS in App Store subscriptions; on Android in Google Play subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period runs to its end.
- Web purchases are sold by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record, whose terms and refund handling apply; App Store and Google Play purchases follow Apple's and Google's refund policies. Beyond those, if something we sold you does not work and we cannot fix it within a reasonable time, email us and we will refund the current period.
- Prices may change; a change applies from your next renewal and we will tell account holders at least 30 days ahead.
4. What you may do
Use the service for your own photography and planning, personal or commercial, on as many of your own devices as you like. Export your own places and plans in the formats offered. Share links and shared plans with whomever you choose.
5. What you may not do
- Resell, sublicense or offer the service or its data feeds to third parties as a service of your own, or scrape or bulk-download the forecast tiles, the sunset-colour forecast or the public API beyond the published limits.
- Circumvent the tier boundaries, share one account among several people, or use automated access that degrades the service for others.
- Post community spots that are false, that disclose private property access you do not have, or that infringe someone's rights. We may remove community content and suspend accounts that break these rules.
6. Your content
Places, lists, notes, photos you import and community spots you contribute stay yours. You give us the licence needed to store, sync, display and (for community spots, at your choice) show them to other users. We claim nothing else, and deleting the account deletes them.
7. Accuracy, safety and no warranty
Astronomical positions are computed with published algorithms and checked against reference ephemerides; terrain, weather, tide, river, snow, space-weather and sunset-colour information come from third-party sources and models that can be wrong, late or missing. Sunrise over a ridge can be a minute off; a forecast can be entirely wrong. The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Use your own judgement for anything involving safety, access, tides, weather, aviation, navigation or the law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost images, lost shoots or lost profits, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory consumer rights.
9. Third-party services and trademarks
Maps, elevation, weather and other data are supplied by the services listed on the credits page under their own terms. "The Photographer's Ephemeris" and "TPE" are trademarks of their owner; this product is not affiliated with them. The name and the sunset-colour forecast are used under agreement with Skyfire Services.
10. Termination
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, after notice where practical. If we close the service we will give account holders at least 60 days' notice and keep exports available for that period.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and disputes go to the courts of Rock Island County, Illinois, except that consumers in the EU, UK or elsewhere keep the protection of the mandatory rules and courts of their home country. The Apple App Store terms also apply to purchases made there, and Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms for the iOS app.
12. Changes to these terms
We will post changes here with a new date and, for material changes, tell account holders 30 days ahead. Using the service after that date accepts the new terms.
